  • Q. Q1. What is the HCoE Mobility Innovation Ideathon?

    The HCoE Mobility Innovation Ideathon is a program designed to discover innovative ideas and new scenarios related to future mobility from students at Hyundai CoE member universities. The program aims to generate new insights into the lifestyles and mobility needs of Indian customers through students’ creative ideas.
  • Q. Q2. What is the main theme of the Ideathon?

    The main theme is “Enhanced In-Vehicle Experience.” The goal is to propose more useful, enjoyable, comfortable, and personalized in-vehicle experiences from the perspective of Indian customers, considering future vehicle environments where AI, UX, SDV, digital content, and personalization technologies come together.
  • Q. Q3. Who is eligible to participate?

    Only students currently enrolled at Hyundai CoE member universities are eligible to participate. Undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply.
  • Q. Q4. Can I participate individually?

    Yes. A team may consist of one or two students. For a two-person team, both students must be enrolled at the same university.
  • Q. Q5. Can students from different academic disciplines form a team?

    Yes. Students from different academic disciplines may form a team as long as they are enrolled at the same university.
  • Q. Q6. What are the Challenge Topics?

    Participants may develop their ideas under one of the following four Challenge Topics based on the main theme, “Enhanced In-Vehicle Experience.”

    Topic 01. India-Smart Interaction
    Topic 02. AI powered & Digital In-Vehicle Experience
    Topic 03. Next-Generation In-Vehicle Interface
    Topic 04. Smart Value Innovation

    Each topic is designed to encourage new in-vehicle experiences that reflect the characteristics and mobility environments of Indian customers.
  • Q. Q7. What is the difference between Track A and Track B?

    Track A – Experience & Scenario focuses on identifying customer problems, usage environments, and behavioral characteristics, and proposing new user experiences and usage scenarios.

    Track B – Technology & Prototype focuses on proposing technologies, systems, algorithms, architectures, or prototypes that can enable new in-vehicle experiences.
  • Q. Q8. Are Track A and Track B evaluated using different criteria?

    No. Track A and Track B represent different types of submissions rather than separate evaluation categories. The same evaluation criteria apply to both tracks.
  • Q. Q9. How can I apply for the Ideathon?

    Applications and idea submissions must be completed online through the official HCoE Mobility Innovation Ideathon Microsite.
  • Q. Q10. What is the application period?

    The online application period is from September 7 to October 23, 2026. The University Preliminary Round will be conducted afterward.
  • Q. Q11. What is the overall selection process?

    The selection process consists of four stages: Online Application → University Preliminary Round → Hyundai Offline Evaluation → Final Presentation.
  • Q. Q12. How will the University Preliminary Round be conducted?

    Each member university will organize its own preliminary selection process based on its circumstances. The format ssaamay include document screening, online presentations, offline presentations, department-level selection, or a Campus Ideathon/Competition. Please refer to your university’s announcement for the specific format and schedule.
  • Q. Q13. How many teams will be selected from each university?

    Each member university may select up to four representative teams through its Preliminary Round. Up to 28 teams from the seven member universities may advance to the Hyundai Offline Evaluation.
  • Q. Q14. Will scores from the University Preliminary Round carry over to the Hyundai Offline Evaluation?

    No. Scores received during the University Preliminary Round will not be carried over to the Hyundai Offline Evaluation.
  • Q. Q15. How will the Hyundai Offline Evaluation be conducted?

    Up to 28 teams selected through the University Preliminary Rounds will have their ideas evaluated by Hyundai experts. Based on this evaluation, seven Finalist teams will be selected.
